A Step Forward, LLC. proudly boasts custom and person-centered orthotic and prosthetic care. During my time there as an Orthotic & Prosthetic Technician, I learned to efficiently manufacture custom prostheses and orthoses by filling and removing plaster casts, making need-specific alterations to plaster impressions, and hand pulling varied plastics. I finished the plastic designs by sawing, grinding, and polishing, sewing and riveting custom straps, and adjusting and attaching joints and hardware. I also had the opportunity to assist in laminating custom carbon fiber prosthetic sockets.
